Who I am
Yunda Yang, also known as Elijah, an artist working between Beijing, China, and the U.S. East Coast. His practice explores the relationship between media and the individual: how images, objects, and technologies shape our inner lives and our connections with others. Each project is also a conversation with himself. He uses art to listen, to question, and to bridge what is felt with what can be shown. Working across photography, installation, and time based media, he stages everyday scenes to reveal constructed nature, moving between documentation and fiction. He is drawn to the meeting point of personal memory and public image culture, where private narratives are edited, performed, and sometimes invented.
